Dong Fang Hong | Gardenias fragrant, mountain notes linger
RM 78 / 10
Dongfang Hong is an exceptionally representative varietal among Fenghuang Dan Cong [凤凰单丛]. The tea leaves are tightly twisted and elegantly shaped, with a dark brown, glossy hue. When brewed, the liquor turns golden and luminous, with natural gardenia fragrance unfolding gradually, interwoven with honey and ripe fruit notes. The aroma is pronounced and layered in complexity.
On the palate it is full-bodied and smooth, with a fresh, bright sweetness and lingering aftertaste. The throat feels sustained and warm. As you brew through multiple infusions, the aroma and flavour shift and deepen, revealing the distinctive mountain character and backbone unique to Fenghuang Dan Cong.
Brewing suggestions:
Use approximately 6–8 grams of tea and brew quickly with hot water at 95–100°C. Multiple successive infusions are possible.
